Gouda – Middenwillens

The design for this potential office location, close to the train station in Gouda, was created for a contest offered by the municipality. Kanters Project Development, Bear Architects and Hollandschap worked together for this plan, which was voted to be the winner of the competition.

The location is very interesting due to its proximity to the train station and the fact that the area borders the nature area ‘Goudse Hout’. The site is characterized by a landscape with small lots and a lot of water. The municipality wanted to raise the site in order to prepare it for building. The project team investigated whether it was possible to preserve the original landscape while at the same time realizing the requested building plan.

Unfortunately the suggested project plan was not realized, as the decision was made to redevelop the site for housing purposes.
