Uithoorn – Community School Legmeer West

This community school houses several schools, including a day care. Several different facilities have been incorporated in the outdoor area. To ensure the safety of the children, the section for the youngest group has been fenced off. From the parking lot there are different colored lines going to each of the individual entrances. Furthermore, there are separate bicycle sheds and meeting points for each of the schools. The design for the general outdoor area shows a lot of sporting and playing facilities. The adjacent “play forest”, where it is possible to play between the planting, is an adventurous element of the project plan. So called “wet areas” have also been created in the forest. At the edge of the forest an amphitheater can be found, which is used for outdoor/nature classes.
