Heiloo – Oosterbos
The future Oosterbos will be realized on the south-east side of Heiloo. The forest is approximately 16 ha, and consists of a residence section and a public section. The “residential forest” is spatially and functionally separated from the public section.
The realization of the Oosterbos creates a new green area, which will have unique characteristics. There is a strong relationship with the surrounding landscape area, and the planting will be based on local soil and water systems. The existing heights, water systems and soil layers have been maintained or even enlarged.
The design subdivides three forest types; the “residential forest”, the “transition forest”, and the “wet forest”. Because of its proximity to the neighborhood Ypestein, the Oosterbos will play an important role as recreational green area.
